When you book a hunt with us, your journey begins in Terrace, British Columbia. Terrace is the municipal airport most hunters fly into. Typically, you’ll book a flight to Vancouver and then take a two-and-a-half-hour regional jet north to Terrace.

We’ll meet you at the airport and arrange a stay at the M Star Hotel in Kitimat. The staff there are fantastic—fun to chat with and always welcoming. One of the crew’s favorite parts of that hotel is the latte machine in the lobby. Every time clients get dropped off, the guides make a beeline for it. We like to joke that the M Star is famous for its free lattes.

Most clients bring their own rifles, but if you’re traveling with a firearm, we recommend allowing at least four hours between your international arrival in Vancouver and your connecting flight to Terrace. This gives you enough time to clear customs, recheck your luggage, and avoid being delayed. Occasionally, airlines misplace gear or clients prefer not to travel with a rifle. In those cases, we have high-quality rifles available to rent for $500.

Once you’re settled, the adventure begins. For bear hunts, we usually pick you up around seven or eight in the morning. From there, it’s a six- to seven-hour ride down to base camp by boat, and the hunt often starts right away. Many times, clients have spotted bears along the shoreline before even setting foot at camp. In fact, more than once, hunters have jumped straight into a skiff upon arrival and been successful before unpacking.

Before any hunt begins, we take every rifle—yours or ours—to the range. This ensures accuracy and builds confidence in your equipment. Our rifles are all tack-drivers, maintained to a high standard, and we want you to feel just as confident with them as we do.

We know you’re making an investment when you book a trip with us, and we’re equally invested in your success. Our reputation depends on the quality of your experience, and we take that seriously. Your success is our success, and we’ll work hard to put you in position for whatever game you’re after.

The best way to prepare is to spend time at the gun range before your trip. Know your rifle inside and out. When the opportunity of a lifetime presents itself, you’ll want to be steady, confident, and ready to make the shot—so your goat, bear, or moose doesn’t walk away.
